Yondu And The Ravagers

Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) audiences first met the Ravagers in Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014), a film directed by James Gunn. Peter Quill / Star Lord (played by Chris Pratt) was abducted by the crew of Captain Yondu Udonta when he was a young child, and he quickly adopted their way of life.

The film’s direct sequel, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), expanded upon the scope of the Ravagers, introducing other clan leaders. Prior to the events of the story, Yondu’s crew was exiled from the pirate community because of their involvement in child trafficking for the Celestial Ego (Kurt Russell); however, the captain’s rank was reinstated posthumously to acknowledge his noble sacrifice.
