Fine looking piece of slate that sits very well on the uneven surface of our reclaimed wooden table to continue the natural look. Riven edges are uniform enough to make it stay tidy, but give a rough enough edge to look the part. Slight variations in thickness can leave some of them fragile but if they're handled well, there are no issues. Works out very well when they're on the offers and you can get 8 around a table.

Was a bit surprised at the size of these slate placemats. They were smaller than the ones in shops. They are also pretty sharp on the edges. On the plus side they are very sturdy and good quality.

These came exactly as I expected. Slate isn't that hard to judge. They are good heavy strong slates. I will use them as plates rather than place mats as they are sharp at the sides. Will look pretty with food on them and worth the money.
