In 2010 Coronation Street celebrated its 50th anniversary. Now fans of the nation’s favourite soap opera can get their hands on a selection of collectable memorabilia.
Coronations Streets battleaxe Vera Duckworth had a loud mouth and a fiery temper that often got her into trouble with her husband Jack and the other residents of the street. She appeared on our screens 2277 times, had a son called terry who was always out for money and didn’t care who he hurt whilst getting it and a surrogate son, Tyrone Dobbs.
Vera had a variety of jobs whilst on Coronation Street ranging from supermarket worker, waitress, land lady and factory worker and is responsible for the vibrant blue and cream stone cladding at number 9. Vera also had a love of Blackpool and was planning on retiring there before she sadly passed away in her armchair in 2008.
Vera Duckworth's loud mouth and short temper made her one of the best-loved characters on the street.
