What a great gadget!

This Laser Sphere is an absolute must for those geek spacehead moments when only a living room lightshow will do. It's fantastic with the lid on, like you've trapped a magic spell in there and it's trying to get out. But turn your lights off and take the lid off, and there's a psychedelic lightshow on your roof and all around you. At its relatively low price, you just can't miss this. It's great with relaxed tunes in the background.

Excellent gift man!

Bought one for a friends birthday - one of those things she would never buy for herself. While I waited for it to arrive wasn't sure I'd done the right thing....maybe she'd prefer shoes or make-up or something. Fears proved to be totally unfounded - she tells everyone about this amazing globe. It was actually much, much better than I expected - especially with the lid off. With the lid on and a few glasses of wine we were also pretty sure we could see pterodactyls flying around the green gaseous planet! It is extremely relaxing and a good talking point too. I would definitely recommend.

Simply awesome

For the price this Laser Spher is amazing. Get the height right where you stand it, take the top off and you've got a fabulous and very bright laser show with constantly moving colour changing background. This is all projected onto the ceiling or wall (it can be angled up to 45% on its base, which is neat). The LEDs phases between blue and green and the red lasers dance complex patterns slowly round. The whole thing rotates below an uneven crystal surface further diffracting the lightshow. It's mesmerizing and goes perfectly with my massage chair and some ambient music! It's relaxation heaven.

IWOOT - you need a new category...

...which should be 'Stuff That Keeps A 3 Year Old Boy Amused For Hours'. The Laser Sphere is a cracking product, producing a very pleasing green and blue colour shifting cloud with a few red shooting stars thrown in. The phases of green and blue overlap with the red so you get a nice slow colour shift too. The top rotates to keep the clouds and stars moving and positioned correctly (low enough) the light show extends to the walls as well as the ceiling. With the top on, you get a crystal ball like magic lamp, or at least what a crystal ball might look like if they actually existed outside of the world of 'you will meet a tall dark stranger'. A white ceiling and light coloured walls, one duvet and a couple of cushions make for an impromptu star gazing session which will entertain a 3 year old for ages.

Stress free

Bought two laser spheres - one for the lounge and one for the bathroom. The sphere changes colour with the top on, but once you take it off, the light not only shines on the walls but also on the ceiling. Excellent for those evenings when you just want to destress. Would recommend.

Laser Sphere vs laser pod

3

The Laser Sphere is a nice bit of mood lighting. The light produced with the diffuser off may not cover the same distance as a "laser pod" but the overall light show has a more ambient effect in my opinion. It fills the space with light not just putting spots of colour on some parts of the wall which the "laser pod" does. With the diffuser on its much the same story. Overall my opinion is the "laser sphere" and "laser pod" although producing the effects similar ways are different beasts and fulfill separate needs. The ideal placing for a "laser sphere" would be in a corner of a room as you get 2 walls for light to bounce off close enough to produce strong light. If you have high ceilings this is a must or the effects are very faint.

Must Buy

This Laser Sphere is simply brilliant and so relaxing to watch. I prefer it with the dome on - it transports you to another world. So good in fact, I've just ordered another for my office.

seriously hypnotic

If you love watching beautiful things and have a white ceiling, you actually need a Laser Sphere. It's hypnotically relaxing and seriously addictive! Team it up with trance music and incense sticks for a magical journey into your mind.

Laser Sphere Review

A pretty cool lightshow for the price.. i got one today, and was pleasantly surprised when i switched it on :) Under the diffuser globe, it contains 3 red lasers, and 6 LEDs, and a motorised rotating glass disk. The glass disk is covered in lumps which diffract and distort the lasers and LEDs making a colour-changing nebula pattern with red-laser patterns dancing almost randomly on the wall, or on the diffuser globe.
