SatNav with video

A great little product which combines an automatic video camera with a satnav (and other less useful facilities like a textbook reader and calculator) and bought at a very good price. The unit is rather on the quiet side and the manual has had a lot of overprinted text, implying the original instructions were either incorrect or incomplete. There are 2 SD card slots and it is not clear what the "GPS" SD slot is for

A Good Guide

A good sturdy unit which was easy to set up and get started. The attachment for securing to the windscreen/dash is not good - had to really work hard at finding a place where I could read it but not obscure my vision. Took it out on a route I already new and it routed my trip very well, when I changed from the suggested route (on purpose) it recalculated almost immediately. it also advised me of a fixed speed camera but advised the wrong speed !! The built in camera feature is great but to record your trip you need to buy an SD card separately - why don't they just include one !!!!! Grrrrrrrr. Over all a great unit for the price but you still need to read the road signs, apply some common sense and maybe chuck a map in the car just in case.

DVR505

The SatNav part of the device is very good. You can enter postcodes/addrsses or co-ordinates to plan your route. Very accurate and the satellites are picked up very quickly. The DVR part of the device is very good. Very clear video and the way the video is recorded makes it very easy to locate just the part you want and not have to trawl through the whole video. You can remove your micro SD Card and and copy the video segments to your PC very easily. I have used many SatNav devices and have trialled many more for my company where we have 150 to 200 SatNav units being used every day. This Binatone puts them all to shame. I would thoroughly recommend this Binatone DVR505 to anyone.
