Potential Safety Risk

Whilst I will grant that the product is very good, I do however believe there is a safety risk attached to the device. I set this up for my son after purchasing as a Christmas Present. I left the device switched off at the wall once I tested. When I passed by the room later I noticed the speaker on the floor (not uncommon with a 2 yr old running about). As I picked up the two part power supply I noticed that it was in two parts again, searching for the 3 pin connector I noticed that it was still plugged into the wall. Fortunately the wall socket was off and there was nothing about to probe the would be exposed terminals. I reassembled the power supply and found that squeezing my fingers towards the pin I was able to release the switch that allowed the power supply to twist and therefore come free leaving the live and neural pins exposed. All this significantly easier to replicate with the fingers of a 2 yr old. I have of course emailed IWOOT and Gear4 on two occasions, neither of which garnered a response.

Be warned, unlike all the reviews online for this product, there must have been a design change and it no longer comes with an iPod/Pad dock. This feature was, at launch, the differentiation between the cheaper red bird speaker (no dock) and the more expensive black bird model.
