We have a constant stream of weird and funky stuff pouring in our door the whole time, but seldom has one caused as much excitement and cheering as the Horse Racing Extravaganza. Within moments of us popping in the batteries and firing it up, we had a crowd gathered round the racetrack whooping and shouting, laying bets and generally causing mayhem. This is a stupendously brilliant toy.
The racetrack has five runners in different livery who, after a suitable piped fanfare from the in-built speakers, set off on a frantic gallop around the racetrack. Driven by magnets that move at random speeds under the track (so you never know who's going to win), the horses and riders clatter along to the cheers of the crowd. You can choose between two lap and three lap races, rejoice at the ludicrous horse sound effects and the blast from the William Tell Overture, and to avoid arguments at the result and the upset of a stewards enquiry, there's an LED display which shows you the placing for the first three riders to hit the finish line.
It's a marvellous game and an immediate crowd pleaser. Perfect for family events, betting nights with mates, or just to utterly disrupt your office - as we have found to our cost!
