We still don't know how this works (probably didn't concentrate enough in Physics) - nevertheless this is the cream of Plasma Balls and an utterly entrancing delight. Streams of beautiful light flow from the core, and when you place your hand on it, the rays rush to your fingertips in a totally compelling and sci-fi kind of a way.
It's a complete wonder and we spend far too long just sitting and staring at
it (and to be honest, fondling it, but only after dark and when no-one's watching).

Customer Reviews for Plasma Ball
The kind of thing you'd see in any good science museum, only smaller, Plasma Balls are a divine thing to have in any room. As well as a good conversation piece, it just looks cool. Being an interactive object, it grabs your attention and beckons you to stare deeply at the forked prongs of 'plasma' (the name suggests so) emanating from the central source. God knows how it works, but it works beautifully. Touch the glass casing and a stream of energy will 'snap' to the location of your finger, seemingly connecting to your finger (and after a while you'll feel your finger heat up slightly), but put the whole of both your hands on it and all the energy courses to your palms in an arching glowing blue beam. It's a scientific wonder - forget rocks and plants - this is the interesting side of science. Everyone who set eyes upon this for the first time in my room, they immediately (and also excitedly) requested I turn it on so they could experience a gadget very much different from any other.

This is sooperdooper, if you touch it with one hand and touch a light with the other it'll light up the light!

Have one exactly like the one on this website. You can experiment with it a lot and you'll find fascinating things. When you place a few coins on it for example, it can deliver a very very small electric charge to your fingertips (you won't even feel it, but SURELY see it - looks absolutely cool). This encourages a huge waste of time, but it's a super buy. Looks awesome in the dark and makes your white clothes look ghastly purple at night. Hugely recommended!

This is really cool. I made the mistake of putting it in the same room I do my work in, and since I bought it, I haven't done anything but stare at it...

This is really cool. It came at about 3pm and I couldn't wait till it got dark so I could see it at its full potential. I just keep staring at it. It's a great buy.

I think plasma balls are great and everyone and anyone should get one. Here's a trick: In one hand hold a light stick. In the palm of the other hand, hold the plasma ball. The light stick lights up! If you dont have a light stick, a bulb also works. PS you'll have stand on something in this trick so that the energy doesn't rush to the ground.

This plasma ball is so funkadelic it's like being in the 70's all over again, except you don't need drugs to see the funky lights. The rays are instantly attracted to any objects close by. Warning, sticking this product in your microwave or oven may cause it to explode, don't be stupid.

Great to play with, especially in the dark. By the way, do not let your cat near this thing. My cat started sniffing round it and got a small shock and leapt half way across the room. :) Hilarious.
