The SL2 Survival Tool is a super-tough, compact and lightweight tool that is indispensable for anyone who's into camping, fishing or hiking, and is an upgrade from our popular SL3.
As well as its sturdy little black and serrated locking 'A' grade blade, it comes with a remarkable firesteel (developed by the small, but, no doubt, perfectly formed, Swedish Defense Department) which will light fires with ease even in the wet - it produces an astonishing 3,000°C hot spark. The handle of the firesteel contains a small but powerful waterproof torch, and in the body of the SL2 is a piercing rescue whistle, as well as a handy belt clip. The SL Series Survival Tools make you wonder how anyone survived without them.

This is a great tool to have. I don't need to carry it around me all day, BUT I WANT TO!
De Wet, Chippenham
First thing first, this tool (not knife) is amazing! The torch is amzing, the firestarter is genius, whistle is brilliant, and the knife is top quality! Best of all is the build of the tool... it's as sturdy as it looks and feels as though it will last years! I'm taking this on a month-long trek to Argentina and I'm sure it will prove invaluable!!! A*** for the SLP2!!! Thanks, IWOOT!

Lets face it, the chances are that you aren't going to get stranded in a forest or lost in a desert, but if I was going to be I would choose this tool. You could cut the wood to make a fire, light the fire and if it starts raining just pull out the torch and laugh at the rain and when you have finished mocking mother nature you might want to whistle for help with the emergency whistle. Five stars!
Jack R, Stanmore
This is a great little tool. I had it bought for me this Christmas and i have found it hard to put down due to its effect on you. I keep on wanting to use the sparker!!! The bade is incredibly sharp also and is a perfect tool. Cheers IWOOT team.

I have bought other pen knives in the past, even a Swiss Army knife, but none of them compare to this one.

Received the SLP2 Survival Tool within two days of placing my order. Excellent quality - does what it says on the tin (it comes in a protective tin as well). Nice one IWOOT

I just got bought this little gem for my birthday. It definitely holds true to the IWOOT moto; stuff you dont need, but really, really want! It's every mans dream, a very sharp blade, an unbelievebly loud whistle, a torch and of course, the fire steel! I absolutely love it! Thank you IWOOT!
Aaron L, London
Being a man, i love fire and sharp things. This product is therefore every man's dream! The incredibly sharp blade (it really will cut through ANYTHING!) will cut wood, the fire steel will light a fire and the torch will let you see when you are trying to light more fires later on! All you need is a gorgeous girl to carry it around for you, and you're sorted for life!

As an exprienced outdoorsman & survival nut I've seen & used many tools like the SLP2 over the past decade and none have lived up too the claims made by their makers. So when I heard about the SLP2 Survival Tool I was a tad sceptical over a close friend's admiration of its reliability. After purchasing two (one for back up) I was amazed by it's solid build quality and design. I must admit its made life outdoors more of a pleasure now instead of a chore. i've recommended the SLP2 Tool to all my friends. Hey! its a bargin at this price too!
Dean T, North Weald
I love the fire steel on the end of the torch, it's so easy to light fire. The blade is great is so sharp it a can cut almost anything and you can use the teeth on the blade to cut thought wood.
James Willis, Cowbirdge
Ordered it on Monday morning at 1:00am and it arrived on Tues! Well impressed. The tool itself is quality, a nice weight to it. The torch is super bright, the knife is super sharp, the whistle is super loud and the spark thing is class as well. The only thing is, on the specifications it says you get 3000 strikes to it, and on the instructions that come with it it says you only get 500 - But that's plenty anyway.

I am a whitewater kayaker, and a knife is a crucial part of our standard rescue equipment. However, they don't tend to last long due to the invasive effects of water. Indeed, I've been through three knives in the last year. This one, six months down the line from when I bought it, is still going very strong, showing no signs whatsoever of rusting, seizing up, or any of the usual problems. So as a knife, it's been a resounding success.
Where it really shines through is the other useful items that are attached. Another crucial piece of equipment carried by any canoeist is a whistle (check). It works well having been dunked in water, obviously an important requirement for me. Only thing worthy of note is that the mouthpiece is slightly flawed, so where all of the air you blow needs to go through the whistle section, most of it goes down the middle of the knife. Cover the gap with your finger first, and it will work fine. And it's so loud your ears ring after a good blast, which is great.
Torch: always a useful thing to have, it's very bright and directed, so is ideal for hunting around in a dry bag or rucksack.
Finally, the firestarter. A piece of kit that you never realised you needed until you got one. I used to carry a lighter for my stove, but now that it's part of my knife, I don't need it. One less piece of small, easily lost equipment to carry, and it's good for 8000 strikes, so it's going to last a good old while.
The only thing that is worth noting is that getting hold of spares might prove a little tricky, as IWOOT don't currently seem to stock them. Once the flint is used up or the batteries die it could be entertaining finding replacements.
Those small criticisms aside, it's a solid product, one that I'd recommend to anyone in the market for a decent knife, and for watersports enthusiasts it's almost a must-have piece of kit.

This tool comprises of everything you could ever need. If you were stuck in the middle of nowhere, or even a night ut ikn your back yard, this is the tool you need.
a definite must have if you want to create a fire without chugging about fuel and a lighter with you.
