Cubite
In a world where USB is becoming the source of all power (though no doubt Gandolf may have a thing or two to say about that), USB hubs are becoming a necessity. The Cubite Speaker USB Hub is a beautifully designed sleek cube that is not just a handy hub for all your USB paraphernalia, but doubles as a very good speaker for your computer. It has treble and bass controls and a very sexy big volume knob with a sumptuous back light. Totally USB powered, it's plug and play and gives you great sound as well as ports for your memory sticks, MP3 players, digital cameras etc. The Cubite is the first computer speaker with an integrated USB hub, so no more scrabbling under your desk fumbling for hidden USB ports, and now you can chuck out the dreadful sounding speakers that come with most new computers!

I got this speaker for Christmas and love it. The sound quality is brilliant for the cost and size, plus it is much easier to plug in USB cables/pendrives into this than messin' about with the rubbish USB ports that you get on some computers. Oh yeah, it looks really cool as well.

Just got this in replacement of my bulky speakers which sounded like rattling paper. USB powered, a jackplug, awesome glowing orange backlight and sound that is actually clear and can blast through my bedroom door right to the toilet as I was relieving myself. Not to mention the sleek modern design. And here's the big one: its backwards compatible and works just as fast.
If anyone says that this product kills two birds with one stone. They definately havent seen where this stone has ricocheted to. (Not entirely sure what that means, but we think it must be good! Ed.)

The Cubite Speaker and USB hub is an extremely clever contraption. Powered by a single USB input, it provides a decent bass-response and a surprisingly convincing stereo-sound despite both speakers being relatively close together.
The sound input on the Cubite is a standard 3.5mm connector, capable of plugging into the lineout or headphones socket of any audio device; allowing powered sound for external MP3, CD and radio devices.
If the cubite has a drawback it's that the USB inputs on the hub are USB 1, which means you still need to plug your higher-speed devices directly into your PC or MAC to get optimum performance.
This minor glitch aside, the Cubite is an attractive, light, compact and functional piece of kit; ideal for space-saving and cable-saving desktop operation as well as providing a handy travel-companion for music-listeners on the move.
Since the hub and the speakers operate independently, this device is as versatile as it is affordable: a definite must.
Go on, treat yourself.
