Snowboarding: It's like skateboarding, only instead of the potential to scrape all your knee elbow skin off on the street, with snowboarding you get to worry about freezing your extremities or flying off the edge of a mountain. What more could you want? With a crash course (no pun intended) on the basics you'll learn how to stay on track and get a chance to try some mad skills out too.

White Water Rafting: White water and white knuckles go together. It may not be the most practical way to get around, but it certainly is an exciting one. If you ever wanted to be flung around in an oversized dinghy then now's your chance - you can choose between man-made or natural rapids, but either way, you're going to get really wet!

Surfing: Catching that wave is so important, and it's not for nothing that it only takes one session to become hooked on surfing. When you look out to the sea and pick which wave you want to conquer, you take on nature at its wildest. Plus, once you've learnt how to avoid falling off, you look really cool too - it even worked for Keanu Reeves (albeit briefly!) which is saying something.

Ice Climbing: If you have ever looked up at a huge wall of ice and thought 'I bet I could climb that' then now's your chance to do it. With ice walls described as 'Europe's most challenging' this is no task for the half hearted, although you will have an instructor there to guide you up, ensure your safety, and look admiringly at you when you reach the summit.
