Once upon a time our great kingdom was awash with trees, you couldn't even see the wood for them. Then along came home baking and a rather over-enthusiastic propensity for building boats, and we ended up with an awful lot of fields and car parks. Dedicate a Tree (in its presentation tin) is a new idea supported by the charity Tree Appeal which is endorsed by the boisterously broadcasting botanist David Bellamy. The recipient won't actually be sent a tree in the post, as that wouldn't do the tree any good at all, but it will finance the Tree Appeal to plant a tree that will be dedicated to the certificate holder. It's a great idea that benefits the environment, and you never know, if enough trees are planted, we can all breathe easier.
